Personality
Jenna is an attentive and also very chilled female with an enormous self-confidence. She approaches everything new in a good mood and doesn't let anything upset her. She is absolutely outgoing and friendly towards other dogs and animals, as well as other people, whether children or adults. She does not know a stranger, she lets everyone touch and cuddle her no matter what. If I overhear parents telling their kids "I don't know if you are allowed to touch that dog", I tell Jenna to "go over there" and just point at the family, so Jenna walks over to the strangers to say hello and get some cuddles – like it's a normal thing to do, just going to strange people to be petted.
Jenna likes to chill and doesn't need a lot of action, but always gets excited (in a happy way) when you take her somewhere. She really is an absolutely great dog and does very well in every situation. Whether I take her to an event, to a hotel or to a lecture about dogs in a school, she takes it easy. She is friendly to all strangers and is happy to receive attention, but she also enjoys lying down in a corner and oversleeping the hustle and bustle around her.
As soon as you just look at Jenna, she is happy, starts wagging her tail and if you smile at her or say something to her, she comes cheerfully and, if she happens to get past a toy, she takes it with her to give it to you as a present. With her cute, lovely, and decent behavior, Jenna is welcome everywhere and twists everyone around her litte finger in a wink. Which is also due to her perfect size and her beautiful, soft fur, but also because she's such an honest and kind soul.
She enjoys physical contact with us and the pack very much, but still prefers to sleep in the hallway in front of the front door or at the window sill in the bedroom. Even at night she prefers to sleep on there or in her dog bed next to my mom's bed. But as soon as she realizes that she is awake, she jumps on the bed to get some morning cuddles.
Jenna is a very relaxed and cozy dog with a low energy level. She likes to play and retrieve, but doesn't necessarily need it. Nevertheless, she has a strong and easy to control herding instinct, if the other dogs run too far or fast while playing, she steps in, but can also be recalled immediately and accepts to just watch them play. Jenna also does great on real sheep and doesn't scare if they try to attack her.
At 12 years old, Jenna still also loves to run through the woods with Yue & Rayla like a young dog! I hope that Jenna will stay as vital and full of life for many more years. Her grandma Jessie was 18.5 years old when she passed and still had good eyes and had always been healthy.
Jenna also is a very loving and laid back mother who plays extremely cute with her puppies. She masters everything in total serenity, but only nurses until the 4th-5th week and then only irregularly and reluctantly, according to the motto "You wanted the puppies, now you can take care of them". Though she doesn't neglect teaching the puppies or other dogs, she is very determined and consistent with her puppies, but also with other dogs that are too wild or pushy – a short growl is enough and everyone has respect for her. Afterwards, she always smiles at us happily that she was allowed to grumble.
