Personality
Ty Lee is a daughter of Malia out of our „Lost River D-litter“ with Ousse. Since it was Malia's last litter before her breeding retirement, I really wanted to keep a red daughter of her. That's why I created a connection between their names. Since Malia is the "Blazin' Red Lunar Eclipse", Ty Lee became the "Dazzlin' Red Solar Eclipse". Hence her call name Ty Lee, which means "sun" and "calm and beautiful", just like Malia means "calm and sweet" – so it all fits together perfectly!
In terms of personality, Ty Lee also seems to be very similar to her mother. She has the same calm and decent nature that makes her a more than uncomplicated and easy-to-handle dog. But she inherited at least as many great character traits from her father "Ousse", whom I had flown in from Finland for this litter. Ousse is also a very relaxed and, above all, extremely fearless and open-minded. Just like her dad, Ty Lee loves every person and every animal, wiggles her whole body happily and gives kisses without being overexcited or hectic. You really can't help but love her sweetness!
Even in exciting situations or among lots of strangers and other dogs, Ty Lee remains calm and has no problem just lying down somewhere and sleeping. She can accompany you anywhere without having to worry about it stressing or unsettling her, so at 4 months old she was completely cool with us at a really big wedding, calmly accompanied us to the little fair around the corner and she also mastered her first show at the age of 5 months simply fantastically. Neither the car ride, nor the loud hall and the hustle and bustle around us, the many new impressions, nor running on a show lead in a ring, including standing on the table and being examined by the judge, impressed her. Here, too, she behaved in an absolutely exemplary manner, liked to be touched, wanted to greet dogs and gave the judge from Portugal a friendly lick on the face, so that he also smiled happily. However, she will not take part in another exhibition until spring 2024, when she is physically more developed and old enough to be able to compete in Junior class.
All in all, she's been just great so far and the decision to keep her was probably the best one I could have made – although I already made the choice quite intuitively the day she was born! Her siblings are also developing great and are fearless and friendly, but of course the own dog is always the best ;)
We are very excited to see how she will develop in the coming months and years and I will continue to post updates about her. If everything goes as hoped, Ty Lee will be able to support our small breeding as a breeding bitch starting summer 2026, because by then our current breeding bitch Yue will be retired, so that we can then continue our breeding with Yue's daughter Rayla and Malia's daughter Ty Lee in the second generation.
